Project

We will build up tide forests lost in tsunami damage caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake from 1. We aim to make organizations certified NPOs in a way to involve communities.

Profile

Watari-cho, a town of Miyagi Prefecture seaside was devastated by the tsunami recorded seismic intensity 6 in the Great East Japan Earthquake. "Forest Oraho (meaning we)" which has played a major role in life and agriculture over several hundred years from the time of Date Masamune was severely damaged. In this project, Watari townspeople will reestablish "Forest of Oraho" from a scratch with everyone who loves Watari.

Project outline

Watari green belt project, is one of the Watari-cho earthquake reconstruction plan businesses. With the complete aim of "ease of living", "Watari-like", the creation of rich parkland • waterfront, we will make the "Forest of Oraho" as a symbol of reconstruction obtaining the participation of a variety of people, mainly the townspeople. In this Boeing support project, we will do (1) planting of seedlings pots which we have worked on until now and incorporation project of NPO.

1) Formulation of coastal forest basic plan in the private enterprise
2) Negotiations of place for planting seedlings pots and planting
3) NPO incorporation of the project

Creating tide forests respecting grand design and creating mechanisms involving the participation in the project by the townspeople
